MED/HOUSE
Med/house is a housing project. Located in Bunkyo, Tokyo, the project uses local architectural materials to create a striking form that is not
often found in Tokyo city plans. A sun-drenched park was designed by clearing the southern façade. This is a place where there are entrances
both for the use of social areas on the ground floor and for the residential part. The first floor of the social complex is completely open to the public and transparent. Although it is a controlled passage, there is no user limit. The first and second floors have meditation and gathering areas that are limited to membership and can also be used by residents. Since this is a place where interested parties come, it is described as a semi-public space. Starting from the third floor of the building, there are completely private residential areas. There are four types of housing.
Houses of 30, 45, 60 and 75 square meters are created and are suitable for family life. While designing the residences, attention was paid to the absence of dark facades and adequate service. While designing the exterior, care was taken to use wooden materials suitable for Tokyo culture.
At the same time, possible precautions were taken by using fire resistant materials. While this wooden material sometimes acts as a facade material, it often acts as a sunshade.
